San Pablo-Eivissa marked a milestone moment this Sunday as the club held its official team presentation across all categories. Over 300 players from its youth academy to the senior women’s squad gathered at the San Pablo Neighborhood Association, showcasing the club’s remarkable growth since its founding as a neighborhood initiative in 1989.
More Than Jerseys: Cementing Local Identity
The event transcended sports formalities, serving as a powerful demonstration of community ties. “This is where our youngest players see their future,” explained club president María Torres, referencing the club’s unique development model. “Twenty-three of our current Second Division players came through our youth system.”
The Pathway to Professional Play
Youth development remains central to San Pablo-Eivissa’s philosophy. The club currently fields:
- 8 youth teams (ages 6-16)
- 3 regional competitive squads
- 1 Second Division women’s team
Competitive Progress in Focus
Now in their second season in Spain’s Silver Division (Group 1), Sergio Oruj’s squad holds 8th position with 23 points from 18 matches. Their postponed game against Marín could potentially lift them to 6th place according to league standings analysis.
Galician Challenge Ahead
The team faces a critical away match against Bembrive FC (4th place, 38 points) on February 10th. Though Bembrive narrowly won the first leg 3-2 in Ibiza, San Pablo-Eivissa’s recent form shows improvement with 7 points from their last 5 matches.
