Palma Futsal Looks Ahead After 2025/26 Season
Keeping the Core Together
With the 2025/26 campaign finished, Illes Balears Palma Futsal is already turning the page to the 2026/27 season. The club’s main goal is to hold onto as many of the current players as possible. By keeping the existing block intact, they hope to keep building on the success they’ve enjoyed this year and avoid having to start from scratch with a brand‑new squad.
First Departures Confirmed
Mario Rivillos Says Goodbye
Mario Rivillos, who arrived from Levante UD FS in the summer of 2022, is leaving after four seasons in Palma. During his time with the team he became a true leader in the locker room and one of the most important players in the club’s history.
- Rivillos helped the team win three straight UEFA Futsal Champions League titles.
- He shares the record for most titles in the club’s history alongside Carlos Barrón and Luan Muller.
- Individually, he now holds the record for the most UEFA Futsal Champions League victories by a player, with five continental trophies to his name.
Lín’s Short but Impactful Stay
Lín joined Palma last summer as the final piece of the squad. At 39 years old, he brought a wealth of experience, leadership, and a winning attitude that proved vital for a young group facing many challenges.
- Although his playing time decreased, his influence in the dressing room was huge. He acted as a natural mentor for the younger players.
- During his single season, Lín contributed to winning the Intercontinental Cup and helped the team reach the finals of both the UEFA Futsal Champions League and the Spanish Super Cup.
What This Means for the Future
Losing Rivillos and Lín marks the end of two important chapters, but the club plans to use the core that remains to stay competitive. By retaining most of the squad, Palma Futsal aims to keep challenging for every trophy and continue the winning culture that has defined recent years.
Looking Forward
The next step for Palma Futsal is to negotiate contracts with the players they wish to keep, scout for any needed additions, and prepare for another season of high‑level futsal. Fans can expect the team to stay ambitious, building on the foundations laid by departing stars while looking to create new memories on the court.
