Luxair’s New Embraer E195-E2 Jet Takes to the Skies
The aviation industry is abuzz with the commissioning of Luxair’s new Embraer E195-E2 jet, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s fleet renewal journey. A ceremony was held at Luxembourg Airport to commemorate the occasion, attended by notable figures including Yuriko Backes, Minister of Mobility and Public Works, Alexander Flassak, CEO of Lux Airport, Marie-Louise Philippe from Embraer, and Luxair CEO Gilles Feith. The E195-E2 is part of the current generation of Embraer regional jets, designed for short and medium-haul flights, featuring a 2-2 seating configuration without middle seats and an integrated in-flight entertainment system. This aircraft model is also recognized for being one of the quieter in its class.
Expanding Fleet and Brand Identity
Luxair initially ordered four E195-E2 jets in October 2023, later expanding the order to include two more units in December 2024. The introduction of this new aircraft type also marks the beginning of the airline’s revised brand identity.
