Guerrilla Games Announces Cooperative ‘Horizon Hunters Gathering’ for PS5 and PC
Guerrilla Games, creators of the acclaimed Horizon series, has officially confirmed development of Horizon Hunters Gathering – a new online cooperative experience where PS5 and PC players unite to hunt mechanized threats. This concept originated during early brainstorming phases for the franchise and has evolved through multiple prototypes into a full-scale project.
A Tactical Team-Based Combat Experience
In Horizon Hunters Gathering, squads of up to three players collaborate to strategically take down machines threatening their world. Guerrilla emphasizes tactical, skill-driven combat that builds upon the precision mechanics of Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, while requiring coordinated teamwork for survival.

Game Modes and Progression Systems
Guerrilla revealed two primary gameplay modes:
Raid of the Machines: Teams battle escalating waves of enemies emerging from underground strongholds.
Descent to the Cauldron: Extended missions featuring high-risk encounters, unique rewards, and hidden narrative secrets.
Hunter Customization and Social Hub
Players select from diverse hunters, each with unique abilities, personalities, and story arcs that develop through a narrative campaign. Between missions, teams regroup at the Hunters Gathering social hub to:
- Customize avatars and gear
- Interact with NPCs and players
- Form new squads via cross-play matchmaking
Guerrilla confirms cross-progression support, enabling seamless continuation between PS5 and PC versions.
Beta Access and Future Horizons
A closed beta begins in late February 2026. Players can register via the PlayStation Beta Program with their PSN credentials. While no release date is confirmed, the studio continues parallel development on Horizon Steel Frontiers – an NCSOFT-collaborated MMO for PC and mobile platforms.
