Synchronies Art Exhibition: A Teen‑Friendly Guide

What’s Happening?

Cas Contramestre is kicking off the "Synchronies" art exhibition this Tuesday at 7 p.m. The show brings together seven local artists and will be open to the public until July 5.

When Can You Visit?

• Monday‑Friday: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
• Saturday‑Sunday: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Meet the Artists

Armand Escandell – Engraving & Monotype

• Shows linocuts with a surreal twist.
• Also presents monotypes (only one print per piece) dominated by plant‑like shapes.

Joana Escandell – Abstract Painting

• Works in oil and watercolour.
• Her pieces explore colour, form, and feeling without representing concrete objects.

Mònica Escandell – Ceramics & Small‑Scale Mixed Media

• Displays ceramic sculptures.
• Creates tiny paintings and drawings using acrylic, watercolour, and pencil, playing with emotions through colour splashes and fluid strokes.

Sílvia Escandell – Photography & Ceramics

• Shares documentary‑style photos of streets, people, and spaces from her travels.
• Also contributes a few ceramic works that complement her photographic eye.

Toni Gomila – Framed Sculptures

• Calls his pieces “framed sculptures”; they look like shallow reliefs that pop out from the wall.
• Made entirely from recycled materials he finds around the island.

Beti Martínez – Drawings, Watercolours & Installation

• Produces symbolic drawings and watercolours that visualise personal ideas.
• Includes a small installation that adds a three‑dimensional touch to her flat works.

Marta Sales – Marine Biology Meets Art

• A marine biologist who turned 45 in October 2025.
• Her contribution consists of drawings and illustrations made with coloured markers, depicting fish, algae, and underwater scenes.
• Her scientific focus on Mediterranean macroalgae—especially around Menorca—fuels her artistic obsession.

About the Synchronies Collective

The group Synchronies formed in 2024 with its first show at Ca n’Angel, des Mercadal. A second exhibition followed the next year in the same venue.

After the current run at Cas Contramestre, the collective will:

• Exhibit again until August in the Es Soleiet room (Castell).
• Return in November to Ca n’Ángel with a fresh set of works—none of which will repeat what you see now.
