Who Is Roser Lilith?
Roser Lilith, born Roser Juaneda Arriarán in 1997, comes from Ciutadella, Menorca. She studied philology and works as a Catalan teacher, but music has been a constant companion since childhood. She learned violin at the local music school and has been singing for years. Writing songs felt natural to her, especially because she loves playing with words and poetry.
From Rap to a Melodic Blend
Roser’s first public appearance on the Menorcan music scene happened in 2024 when she collaborated with the group Orgànic—her brother’s band—on a rap track. The experience was spontaneous and sparked the idea of recording her own material.
Although she began writing hip‑hop, Roser quickly realized she prefers melodies over rap verses. She enjoys singing more than spitting bars, and she resists being locked into a single genre. Her sound mixes:
- Pop sensibilities
- Electronic textures
- Urban beats
- Catalan lyrics
For her debut EP, she worked with producer Àngel Pérez Ortega (@apodots), who helped shape the electronic‑urban backdrop while she focused on vocal melodies and lyrical depth.
Why Poetry Matters
Roser sees little difference between poetry and music. Some of her tracks start as full songs; others begin as poems she later sets to music. This fluid approach lets her explore emotions in a way that feels both lyrical and melodic.
The Message Behind the Music
She describes her artistic goal as “claiming radical tenderness.” In a world that often feels cold and individualistic, Roser wants her songs to remind listeners of the power of genuine care and connection. The four tracks on her EP, Chase or Run, chart an evolving view of relationships and love, reflecting different moments from her own life.
Looking Ahead
Roser sees her music as a personal and creative necessity. She plans to keep developing her sound and hopes to bring her songs to live stages soon. For her, the journey is just beginning, and she’s excited to see where her blend of poetry, melody, and urban vibes will take her.
Conclusion
Roser Lilith exemplifies how a love for language and music can merge into a fresh, heartfelt sound. By refusing to be boxed into one style and focusing on tender, poetic storytelling, she offers Menorcan teens a relatable and inspiring new voice in the local music scene.
